The Little Book of Poker
David Spanier
Publisher: Huntington Press (2000)
Pages: 170
ISBN: 0-929712-97-8

The Little Book of Poker is just that. A little book containing tidbits about poker, mostly tidbits for the player less familiar with the intricasies of serious poker. The book apparently collects columns Spanier wrote for a London newspaper. Most of them are extremely short, much like what you see in chess and bridge columns. Although some of the stories are cute, most hold little interest for anyone who reads Card Player regularly. They might serve better as a primer for the journalist, novelist, or filmmaker who needs to get a quick introduction to the poker world.
